JOYA PARK

THE FIRST GLOW-IN-THE-DARK PARK IN THE UNITED STATES

Located in Farmers Branch, Texas, Joya transforms into an all-encompassing glow-in-the-dark playground that, although entertaining during the day, truly comes to life at night. Its interactive features illuminate, providing opportunities for both daytime and nighttime play.

The LED lighting aspect of the project, involving approximately 1587 feet of Wave Silicone RGB PWM, 457 feet of Light Strip RGBW PWM, and 53 feet of Light Strip 5700K Static, demonstrated mid-level complexity. The lighting system is currently controlled by the Pharos LPC 1 DMX controller and soon will see the implementation of cloud control.

The decision to utilize the Vivid Wave and Vivid Light Strip LED products for this project was influenced by their high lumen output, low profile, and a 10-year warranty, aligning well with the specific requirements and preferences of the project. Additionally, a custom silicone sleeve was developed for the Light Strip installed in the sphere play structure to address concerns of children pulling at the fixtures, demonstrating a thoughtful consideration for safety and durability in the product selection process.

The LED lighting system installation involved embedding most of the LEDs in-ground throughout the park. A comprehensive conduit network was established, consolidating all controls and power lines that converged at a centralized point. The system utilized several SR-2108b decoders in conjunction with a Pharos LPC 1 controller. The installation team demonstrated proficiency, requiring guidance primarily for configuring decoder settings and the LPC controller to seamlessly integrate and operate the expansive LED lighting network.

The successful implementation of the LED lighting system in this project stands as a testament to meticulous planning, innovative product selection, and the skilled execution of the installation team. From the high lumen output and durability of the Vivid Wave and Vivid Light Strip products to the intelligent control facilitated by the Pharos LPC 1 and SR-2108b decoders, every aspect was carefully considered to bring vibrant illumination to the park. The custom silicone sleeve for the Light Strip, designed to protect against wear and tear in the sphere play structure, reflects a commitment to both aesthetics and safety.

As we witness the transformative impact of this LED lighting venture, it's evident that the marriage of cutting-edge technology, thoughtful design, and expert installation has created an inviting and dynamic atmosphere. The future addition of cloud control promises even greater flexibility and accessibility, ensuring that this illuminated landscape will continue to captivate and inspire for years to come.
